WHAT IS THE NEW STORY OF OUR CHANGING EARTH?
“One feels instinctively that a new story is needed, for the old stories no longer speak to the current reality. And yet the old stories seem to rise again and again in fractal waves to give power and portent to the culture. What is needed, then, is for the stories to be re-mythologized and rewoven in the light of today's necessities. This has always been the job of culture, to discover again and on a deeper level the meaning and relevancy of the once and future story, for without story, a culture becomes denatured and demoralized.”
Mandala Earth Story is a travelling community art project inspired by the earth wisdom of communities through their indigenous/ traditional/ spiritual knowledge, systems, and practices.
The journey draws inspiration from local sacred circles popularly referred to as the Mandala which means "Sacred Circle" in Sanskrit, the ancient language of India. Existing in almost all of the world's traditions, the Mandala, has been a medium for integration and seeing all things as whole, interconnected elements. Using the mandala as medium, process, and message, valuable earth wisdom coming from the local culture and practice are applied to the existing conditions that need solutions and actions.
Through it, the process involves tapping existing capacities and resources to address existing ecological, social, and/or political conditions. Transformational community actions are designed using integral, innovative, and whole systems design and approach.
Through shared earth stories, the project hopes to create spaces where Earth Wisdom is remembered, explored, translated, and most importantly - applied to some of the pressing issues humanity and the earth face today: waste and climate change, disaster rehabilitation and preparedness, and conflict transformation.

OVER 50,000 KITES FLOWN IN CONFLICT AFFECTED REGIONS OF MINDANAO
Kites for Peace is a creative response to the violence against children of Gaza during the Israel-Hamas war in July 2014. Inspired by the kites these children flew in 2011 to break the Guinness World of Records, Kites or Peace invited children around the world to share their voice about conflict and violence in their community. Last November 25, an estimated 50,000 kites were flown for the Mindanao Week of Peace and the World Day of Prayer and Action for Children in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
Kites for Peace is in partnership with the Charter for Compassion, Compassion Games International, Unify, Binhi ng Kapayapaan, Anak Mindanao, and the Global Network on Religions for Children.
Plans for 2015 involve the creation of peace gardens in conflict affected communities in the Philippines.

Project Rainbow: A Story of Hope
How can the next generation prepare for the changes taking place in times of crises?
Project Rainbow is living and learning experience empowering young people in crises affected communities in designing and implementing regenerative solutions for their community.
Young people learn whole systems principles and practical actions to expand their existing capacities for resilience through food security, sustainable livelihood, renewable energy, waste management, creative placemaking, and environmental education.
Project Rainbow is a collaboration of ecovillage design, permaculture, creative placemaking, cultural re-storying, community architecture, and peacebuilding principles and applications. The community spaces (garden, playground, community center, etc) or whatever regenerative space created together become a symbol of regeneration from what was broken into something whole and new again.
